Kate Coleman found her love for wine while living in Arizona. She enrolled in Yavapai College's
Viticulture & Enology program in 2018. Through her internships, she has worked with Arizona
Stronghold, Alcantara Vineyard, and The Southwest Wine Center to hone her skills. Today she is deeply
immersed in the world of winemaking as the only female vintner in the Rio Grande Valley, Texas.
Partnered with Wright Vineyards, she tends over acres of Blanc du Bois, Black Spanish, and Walker
Variety vines that were developed by UC Davis to flourish in South Texas conditions. If that doesn't seem
like enough, Kate is also responsible for overseeing the crush team, yeast selection, fermentation, SO2
management/lab work, sugar bench trials, filtration, and finally bottling. She sees the process through,
from vine to bottle. Her home base is in Brownsville with her husband Ted, her dog Nudle, and cat Hela.
She is a dedicated plant mom and can be found in her spare time posted up at the beach with her Jeep.
